The last weekend of August on Lake Norman is stacked. With summer still in full swing and the holiday weekend ahead, Cornelius venues are programming their strongest lineups of the month. Here is where to find live music across the area from Friday through Sunday.
Friday, August 28
Lost Worlds Brewing — 6 PM: Nick Prestia (Folk Rock)
Lost Worlds Brewing at 19700-D One Norman Boulevard kicks off the weekend with Nick Prestia's folk rock set. Their outdoor patio is one of Cornelius's best gathering spots, and the beer menu rotates regularly. Free, all ages.
760 Craft Works — 6:30 PM: Mike Rajewski (Acoustic)
Mike Rajewski brings acoustic originals and covers to 760 Craft Works on West Catawba Avenue. A relaxed start to the evening with handcrafted cocktails and a beer selection that draws from local North Carolina breweries.
Harp and Crown LKN — 7-10 PM: Ben Gaitlin (Rock)
Harp and Crown LKN at 19930 West Catawba Avenue. An elevated gastropub setting with Ben Gaitlin on stage. Reserve a table on the patio if the weather is warm.
Royal Bliss — 7-10 PM: Ethan Timm (Blues / Rock)
Ethan Timm closes out the work week at Royal Bliss with blues-infused rock in an intimate lounge setting.
BoatYard LKN — 8 PM: Weekend Headliner
BoatYard Lake Norman at 18418 Statesville Road. The weekend headliner on the lakeside stage. Check their website for the latest artist announcement. Arrive early for waterfront table seating.
Bin 110 — 9 PM: Weekend Act
Bin 110 on One Norman Boulevard. Late-night music paired with their extensive bourbon selection. No cover for general admission.
Saturday, August 29
Lost Worlds Brewing — 5 PM: Lake Norman Bluegrass (Bluegrass)
Saturday afternoon at Lost Worlds Brewing features Lake Norman Bluegrass, a local favorite that draws a crowd. Grab a seat early and enjoy authentic bluegrass with a cold craft beer in hand. Free, family-friendly.
760 Craft Works — 6:30 PM: Brittney Lee & Gary Ward (Acoustic Pop / Rock)
The duo brings tight harmonies and acoustic arrangements of pop and rock favorites to 760 Craft Works. A perfect early evening set before heading to the next venue.
Harp and Crown LKN — 7-10 PM: Nickel City (Rock)
Nickel City takes the stage at Harp and Crown for a high-energy rock set. The gastropub's dinner menu pairs well with the electric atmosphere.
Royal Bliss — 7-10 PM: Josey Wails Band (Blues / Rock)
The Josey Wails Band closes out Saturday at Royal Bliss with a full-throttle blues and rock performance. One of the area's most active bands.
BoatYard LKN — 8 PM: Saturday Headliner
BoatYard's Saturday night show on the water. Lakeside seating fills up fast for the weekend headliner.
Rudder & Rose — 10 PM: Off The Record (Pop)
Late-night pop covers at Rudder & Rose on the Cornelius waterfront. A great cap to a Saturday evening out.
Sunday, August 30
Sundays on Lake Norman are for winding down, but there is still music to be found. Lost Worlds Brewing often features acoustic brunch sets, and Old Town Public House on Catawba Avenue keeps its regular rotation of live acts. Check individual venue calendars for Sunday-specific schedules. For a quieter end to the weekend, the Cain Center for the Arts has "Stand-Up For Good" comedy on Saturday August 29 -- a great lead-in to a relaxing Sunday on the lake.
Cain Center for the Arts: Stand-Up for Good
On Saturday, August 29, the Cain Center for the Arts at 109 S Academy Street presents "Stand-Up For Good," a comedy night featuring national and regional comedians. It is a ticketed event and a great option for those who want a seated show rather than a bar crawl. The Cain Center's intimate theater ensures every seat has a great view of the stage.
North Meck Community Night Market
Every Wednesday through September 30, the North Meck Community Night Market brings food vendors, local artisans, and live music to the Cornelius area. The August 26 and September 2 editions are coming up and offer a family-friendly midweek outing with a rotating lineup of performers. Check the market's social pages for the weekly artist schedule.

The Lake Norman Social District operates daily from 12 PM to 10 PM in Old Town Cornelius, meaning you can grab a drink at one venue and walk to the next. The stretch from Lost Worlds Brewing on One Norman Boulevard to Bin 110 to Old Town Public House on Catawba Avenue is entirely pedestrian-friendly. On a Friday or Saturday evening, you can catch three different acts within a five-minute walk, all without a cover charge.
